Heavy duty polyurethane primer for Vetotop flooring & coating systems
Vetoprime UP170 is a low viscosity solvent free primer based on Vetonit’s heavy duty polyurethane resin binders. Vetoprime UP170 is not designed for stand alone use and must be overlaid by the appropriate Vetotop coatings. The product comes in 3 components that need to be mixed completely using a suitable mixing paddle fited to a slow speed mixer (300-500 rpm) prior to application.
Vetoprime UP170 is supplied in 3kg Kit, with Coverage : 10 m2 per 3kg kit
Original sealed container of Vetoprime UP170 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 35ºC.
surface should be at least 5 days old and visbly dry with no standing water. Laitence deposits on new concrete are best removed by light grit blasting, mechanical scabbling or grinding.
Where heavy contamination by oil and grease has occurred or existing coatings are present, it is essential that all contaminations are removed.
Mix Vetoprime UP170 as supplied. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes by electric drill with spiral mixing paddle. Once mixed, the Vetoprime UP170 shall be immediately applied in a thin continuous film using stiff brushes or rollers. Brush well into the sides and floor of the anchor grooves. Avoid over-application and puddles.
Vetoprime UP170 shall be allowed to become tack-free prior to the application of Polyurethane coating (unless otherwise specified) but well within the open time specified for the given temperature. The hotter the substrate, the more quickly the primer will become dry.
All tools and equipment shall be cleaned immediately after use with water.
Vetoprime UP170 shall be allowed to become tack-free prior to the application of Polyurethane coating (unless otherwise specified) but well within the open time specified for the given temperature.
Defects in the primed surface, such as blow holes in the surface as a result out of bleed run pores in the substrate, should be remendied prior to overlaying. Failure to do so may lead to surface defects in the finished floor.
If the time between coats exceeds 48 hours, or if condensation or water impacts the surface, fully abrade the surface. This will normally mean that the floor must be reprimed.
It is essential that Vetoprime UP170 is applied to a sound, clean and dry surface in order to achieve maximum bond strength between substrate and coating/repair products.
Vetoprime UP170 is non-flammable.
