It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on site, which required only addition of clean water to produce easily creamy paste with thixotropic effect. Vetoset CA548 specially formulated to fix ceramic tiles on all types of gypsum substrate. Vetoset CA548 is generally applied at a nominal thickness of 3 mm.
Vetoset CA548 supplied in 25 Kg Bag, Coverage: 6-8 m2 @ 3mm thickness
Original sealed container of Vetoset CA548 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
For the preparation of mortar adhesive, pour into a container 5.0-5.25 litres of water for each 25 Kg bag of Vetoset CA548. Add the powder to the water and mix with a low speed (200-300 rpm) electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved. Allow the mixed material to stand for about 5 minutes and briefly remix with no extra water added.
Spread mixed Vetoset CA548 n the substrate to a uniform thickness of 3 mm using a toothed spatula or trowel, the first pass use smooth side and the second pass use toothed side. Place the tiles onto the fresh adhesive mortar with a firm pressure & slight twisting to ensure a good contact of the adhesive.
Apply enough material that can be tiled within its open time. Spreading large area may result in surface drying the wet adhesive bed before tiles can be fixed, will cause in poor adhesion.
In case of large size tile, it is necessary to spread the adhesive also onto the backside of tiles and then place into fresh adhesive bed.
Remove excess adhesive with a damp cloth before it dries. Joints grouting between tiles may be commenced after 10 hours for walls and 24 hours for floors using Vetoset CA548 or other compatible grouting materials.
Tools should be cleaned with water before the mortar hardens. After the hardening its residuals can be removed mechanically only.
Tools and equipment can be cleaned with water immediately after use. Hardened materials will require removal by mechanical means.
The surface should be sound, clean free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt etc. Gypsum substrates should have been allowed to cure sufficiently and should not have humidity more than 10%. All cracks and joints should be treated with Saveto crack filler and Saveto joint fillers.
