Vetotop UC175 is a clear two component, low VOC water based UV resistant urethane sealer. It is used as UV resistant sealer over masonry, concrete, gypsum and various decorative finishes. The material has excellent adhesion to minimally profiled concrete. Vetotop UC175 is UV stable for use in exterior applications, cures rapidly and the sealed system is ideal for all weather exposure. When used as a finish coat, Vetotop UC175 gives a hard, matt surface that offers excellent stain resistance and easy cleanability. Original sealed kit of Vetotop UC175 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place below 35ºC.
Mixing Vetotop UC175
In a separate plastic mixing vessel, use a slow speed mixer to mix the base, hardener for 3 minutes. Mix these components in the quantities supplied taking care to ensure all containers are scraped clean. Do not add solvent thinners or water at any time.
Let the mixed material remain in covered container for 5-7 minutes. Mix for 1 minute and sieve into another clean plastic container. Always rinse the used containers with water prior to use.
Apply Vetotop UC175 by roller or brush to the surface. The application should be at a rate of 2.5-5.0 m2 /liter per coat.
Application should not be carried out when humidity exceeds 85% or drops below 15%, or when the surface temperature to be coated is less than 3°C above the dew point.
Do not apply in direct sunlight or when ambient temperatures are above 40°C or below 7°C.
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with clean potable water immediately after use.
The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitence, dirt curing compound, etc.
Laitence and weak surface layer shall be removed using mechanical methods such as grinding in order to provide a sound well profiled surface. All necessary repairs should be made prior to application.
New concrete shall be at least 28 days old with moisture content of less than 5% (shall earlier application be required testing of substrate for moisture conditions shall be made).
Vetotop UC175 can be applied directly to most sound surfaces. However, if the surface is highly absorbent or powdery in nature; then priming is recommended using Vetoprime AP180.
Vetotop UC175 is designed to be applied by roller or brush as a single coat. The product is designed to resist ultraviolet rays (UV) while being cleanable and abrasion resistant.
Vetotop UC175 is irritant and harmful therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. In case of contact with eyes, clean immediately with plenty of clean cold water and seek medical advise.
In case of contact with skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and water. Do not use solvent. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - Do not induce vomiting.
