Premium quality premixed compound for gypsum board joints
Gypsum Joint Compound is composed of a Portland cement, fine fillers, bonding chemicals and high performance additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on site, which requires only addition of clean water to produce cohesive mix. Gypsum Joint Compound is a high quality product for leveling, finishing, filling of gypsum board joints. Gypsum Joint Compound can be applied generally in thickness from 1 mm to 5 mm.

Original sealed bags of gypsum joint compound has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
Mixing
For mechanical mixing add to the mixing container 7.5- 9.5 litres of water for each 20 Kg bag of Gypsum Joint Compound. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without addition of water.
Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities and mix for approx. 1-2 min or when homogenous mix is achieved.
When required add 0.5 litres of Vetobond AB432 to the mixing water and adjust the water requirement accordingly for each 20 kg bag. Follow the same mixing procedure as above.
Mixed material must be used within 2 hours. Do not add water once the mixed filler mortar start to stiffen or harden.
Application
Gypsum Joint Compound is generally applied in single coat. Spread the Gypsum Joint Compound to the area with wide spatula while filling & pressing firmly into the joints.
Place Joint Tape over the joints with small spatula and spread the excess compound over the joint tape and level it smoothly to the surface while edging out to the sides. Use Saveto Bond 2 before fixing tape for better
adhesion. After hardening, smooth rub the joints to a desired finish.
Gypsum Joint Compound can be applied manually or spray machine as skim coat on top of gypsum board to achieve uniform smooth surface.
Curing
Gypsum Joint Compound sets and cures on its own at room temperature.
Cleaning
All tools should be cleaned immediately after finishing by water. Hardened materials can be cleaned mechanically.
The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.
Prior to Gypsum Joint Compound application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and allow to become damp at the time of application.
Gypsum Joint Compound is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eyes irritation, immediately wash with copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advise.
Gypsum joint compound is non-flammable.
